Finn McAlinden Transference was a collaboration of processes, both of us having very different working practices. The work was shot in a homogenous fashion as if following a narrative, using striking imagery of a solitary figure moving through varied environments.The displacement present in the visuals was further exaggerated through the process of editing. We developed a formal structure within which to edit, attempting to explore the potential of the process of editing as a site for creativity. The audio is the original sound, edited with the visuals to exaggerate and enhance the rhythm of the images. Screenings '98 Awards '96 |
